Where profit goes

The loss book, the creator's 15%, the buyback and the holder payout.

#The loss book

Every realised loss is added to a running total, the coin's loss book. A realised win pays that total down first. Only what is left after the book is paid counts as profit.

This is what stops a coin from paying out on a lucky streak while a bigger loss is still unaccounted for.

Example: the book holds 40. The next close realises a win of 100. 40 pays the book down to zero and 60 counts as profit.

#Splitting the profit

Of the profit that is left:

  • 15% goes to the creator, in ETH, as it lands.
  • The rest becomes pending buyback, to be spent in small slices at random times.

The creator is never paid before the book is clear, and the platform takes no share of profit at all.

#Coming home

Profit waits at the perp venue until enough has built up to be worth moving. It is then converted and sent to the vault as ETH.

#Holder payouts

On a pool coin, the bought-back coins form a pot. A payout goes out when the pot is worth at least $100, or $1 per counted holder if that is more. Wallets worth less than $10 are not counted. The largest 5,000 wallets are paid pro rata. There is no snapshot and no lock-up.

On a burn coin, each buyback slice is burned as it is bought and there is no holder pot.

#Worked example

Take the strategy lab's Balanced 3x long on a steady rise, with 100 of margin: the take-profit slices sell on the way up, the gross wins pay an empty loss book, 15% of the net goes to the creator, and the rest is queued for buyback. The numbers on the home page's engine step are the output of that run.
